INCREASING STANDARD BY SAVING ENERGY

On the occasion of completion the activities on the project Development and improvement of competitiveness of SME in the field of increasing energetic efficiency in construction` of Palilula Municipality that was supported by LEDIB programme, in Nis Media Center was organized press conference. About the significance of this project for Palilula Municipality, City of Nis and Region spoke Boban Dzunic, president of Palilula Municipality, Zarko Simovic, coordinator of LEDIB programme, Ljubisa Jakovljevic, project manager and Dragan Vidojkovic, coordinator of Media ecologic net EKOpolis. This developmental project of Palilula Municipality is being realized in the partnership with Construction cluster `Opeka brik`, Administration for planning and construction of the City of Nis and EKOpolis –Meida ecological net of Serbia and is dedicated to the support of local economic development of the Balkans and is focused to the development of the sector of small and medium enterprises – SME in the municipality of Palilula and the Region.

With increasing the life standard, the expenses both heath energy and cooling energy increase – said at the press conference Boban Dzunic, president of Palilula Municipality. In Serbia in this moment it is necessary to invest 1,5 milliard Euros in construction of power plants, gas infrastructure, modernization of refineries and about 600 million Euros into renewable energy resources. Because of the great expenditure of energy in buildings and in the same time the biggest potential of energetic and ecologic savings, energy efficiency and sustainable construction today become priorities of modern architecture and energetic. This area is recognizable as the area that has the biggest potential for reducing total energy spending. According to the words of the president of the Municipality of Palilula, construction sector is one of the most dynamic in Nis, specially in Palilula. It employs the greatest number of people.

Statistics shows that there is about 3 million various objects in Serbia which estimate value is from 150 to 200 KWH per square meter on annual level while in EU that spending is between 50 and 70 KWH. That is of great importance said Boban Dzunic to realize the savings and improve energy efficiency in construction. The examples of good practice, business contacts like visiting of our entrepreneurs International Fair and conference Green Building 2012 last May, make this project sustainable. Coordinator of EKOpolis net that is one of the partners of Palilula Municipality on the project Dragan Vidojkovic, thinks that further education of entrepreneurs and citizens in this area is more than necessary. With the help of three brochures and other promo material, TV broadcast programmes, videos, lectures according to Vidojkovic, it is expected to reach higher level of information of target groups.

LEDIB programme team is extremely satisfied with so far cooperation with Palilula Municipality specially with the results how this last project goes, said the coordinator of LEDIB programme Zarko Simovic. We think that the team `energy efficiency`, specially direction of small and medium enterprises to work in this sector is something that is today very important for the future and development of this sector and specially construction sphere in the region. Palilula Municipality made good step which is in cooperation with its partners and EKOpolis net decided to go into the project which is about the current problem of mankind and that is energy spending that is in this surrounding below European standards. I think, emphasized Simovic, that with the realization of this project, that is recognized and supported by LEDIB programme, we will make the first step in that direction.

Ljubisa Jakovljevic, project manager will direct the call to interested representatives of SME –construction sector to involve into completion activities of work on this project of Palilula Municipality. He announced that on September 27 in Centre for entrepreneurship and project of Palilula Municipality one day seminar on theme – `How to build energetically efficient object` will be organized as well as to consider legal and institutional surrounding for construction of energetic efficient object in the municipality.

The Law on planning and construction was brought in Serbia that recognized and introduces the obligation of the applying energetic passport from September 30 this year. According to Jakovljevic words this lectures have for the aim to introduce traders so that it won’t come to stop in construction sector that is one of the most active in our surrounding. Taking into account Directives of European Union the draft of the Law in rational usage of energy that has to be adopted according to urgent procedure and that is one of the key completion activities in the project – that Palilula realizes with the help of LEDIB programme.
